Orange PD Welcomes Two New Officers

Harrison Jake Pollock and David Scinto were sworn in Monday.

Two new officers were sworn into the Orange Police Department in a ceremony Monday morning. Harrison Jake Pollock and David Scinto will join the force.

"One thing these guys have in common is they wanted to be police officers their whole lives," Chief Robert Gagne told those in attendance. "They worked extremely hard for months in one of the finest training programs available."

Pollock was born and raised in Orange and graduated from Amity High School. He studied Criminal Justice at the University of New Haven and served in Trumbull as an Emergency Services Dispatcher, as well as in the Orange Volunteer Fire Department.

Scinto was raised in Trumbull and studied Criminal Justice at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport. He comes from a law enforcement family -- his father, Lenny, is a Detective Sargeant in Trumbull.

As a parting, Gagne offered advice to Pollock and Scinto.

"Never ever ever rest on your laurels," he said. "Constantly strive to do a better job."
