Orange PD Welcomes Experienced Trooper to Patrol

In a ceremony at police headquarters Monday morning, the Orange Police Department welcomed James Kline, a retired 20-year veteran of the Connecticut State Police, to the force. After Kline's wife Karen provided his badge, Kline was sworn in and began his new role as an officer for the department.

"James is coming here with a lot of experience," said Chief Robert Gagne. "He comes here with an impeccable record."

Addressing Kline, Gagne said, "Jim, we are thrilled to have someone of your caliber here, and we know you are going to enjoy your career here in Orange ... we're looking forward to putting you out on the road."

Kline, a Milford resident, most recently served as an investigative supervisor of the State Police's Western District Major Crime division. In his 20 years of duty, commendations included Police Officer of the Year from the Connecticut Exchange Club, an Outstanding Service Award from the Connecticut General Assembly and a Congressional Certification of Recognition from the U.S. Congress, as well as numerous interior medals.
