Orange Man Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor

He allegedly inappropriately touched an underage person, police say.


A 36-year-old Orange man has been arrested on allegations that he inappropriately touched an underage person.

In a report just released, police said Mario Peraza of Smith Farms Road surrendered at headquarters at 1:50 p.m. on June 22 upon learning of a warrant for his arrest.

"The warrant stemmed from an investigation that began in August of 2011, in which the arrestee was accused of inappropriately touching an underage person," according to the report.

Peraza was charged with:

  • Second-degree sexual assault
  • Third-degree sexual assault
  • Second-degree unlawful restraint
  • Risk of injury to a minor

He was released after posting a $25,000 bond and was due in court on June 25.
