BRIEF: Officer Injured in Early Morning Crash

A patrol officer on a traffic stop was rear-ended by a drunk driver this morning.

A police officer suffered minor injuries when his cruiser was rear-ended by another car during a traffic stop on Derby Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

The officer was brought to the hospital for evaluation.

There are very few details at this time, but, police said, the driver who hit the police car was arrested for drunk driving.

The Fire Department was called out to clean up a fluid spill.
