Men Arrested for Gunplay on Indian Hill Road

Neighbors in the area tipped police off about gunshots being fired.

After hearing gunshots on Indian Hill Road, nearby residents began calling 911 at approximately 1:53 p.m. The Orange Police Department arrived soon after and arrested two people.

Officers found out that handgun had been fired in the back yard of 881 Indian Hill Rd. and a resident of the home was arrested. An acquaintance was also arrested for interfering with police officers, the Orange Police Department said in a press release..

Matthew Gillespie 21, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm, possession of less than half ounce of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia. He was also charged with violation of a protective order as there is an existing court order preventing Gillespie from entering the home at 881 Indian Hill Rd. He was held on $25,000 bond.

Ronnie Henderson 20, of New Haven, was charged with interfering with an officer and criminal possession of a pistol. He was held on $15,000 bond.

Both were scheduled to appear in State Superior Court in Derby on June 1 if bond wasn’t posted.
