Last Month in Crime: The Numbers from Orange Police

Chief Robert Gagne announced October's numbers at Wednesday's Police Commissioner meeting.

 

At Wednesday's Board of Police Commissioners meeting, Chief Robert Gagne released statistics for crime across Orange in October.

Vehicle thefts and shoplifting/larcenies were slightly down from September, according to a comparison with last month's reports, while burglaries were slightly up.

The full statistics, provided by Chief Gagne and Assistant Chief Anthony Cuozzo:

  • 2550 Calls for Service
  • 1 Robbery
    Two men approached a man and stole an iPhone in the parking lot of Burlington Coat Factory, said Gagne.
  • 6 Burglaries (4 Residential, 2 Commercial)
    An attempted barn burglary was foiled by a homeowner on Oct. 3.
    A man allegedly broke into Orange Ale House and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash on Oct. 10.
  • 175 Activated Burglar Alarms
  • 32 Criminal Arrests
  • 27 Shoplifting / Larcenies
  • 17 Fights / Disturbances
  • 7 Arrests for DWI
  • 175 Traffic Accidents
  • 222 Motor Vehicle Citations Issued
  • 120 Medical Emergencies
