Improperly Discarded Wood Stove Ashes Cause Brush Fire

Orange Volunteer Firefighters extinguish a preventable fire.

Firefighters responded to a brush fire on Grassy Hill Road this afternoon.

Investigation revealed that the blaze was started by discarded wood stove ashes.

The Orange Fire Department officers would like to remind residents to deposit all wood stove ash in a covered steel container away from any combustible object for at least 48 hours.
