Heads Up: Permits Pulled For Fireworks Show Saturday Night

Orange Police are hoping to avoid a bunch of 911 calls, as was the case last year.

Orange Police are hoping that a heads up to residents will avoid having the 911 call center overwhelmed with calls about fireworks.

According to police, there will be a large, private fireworks display on Saturday, June 29, at about 9:30 p.m. in the northeast area of town (near Route 34 and the West Haven line).

"Last year, a similar display resulted in numerous 911 calls to the Police Department," Assistant Chief Anthony Cuozzo said. "We would like all residents to be aware that although this is a private event, the sponsors have taken out all of the necessary permits and this event will be monitored by the Orange Fire Marshal's office and the Orange Fire Department."
