Police Investigating Suspected Double Commercial Burglary

Chief Robert Gagne announced September's crime reports at Wednesday's meeting.


According to Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne, September's crime statistics for Orange included three commercial burglaries -- two in the same night.

According to Gagne, the burglaries took place on the night of September 17: at Dunkin' Donuts at 297 Boston Post Road and the nearby Subway. Windows were broken and cash was taken in both cases.

"These jobs have been done in other towns," said Gagne. "Between Milford, Stratford and Shelton there are numerous burglaries with this same kind of M.O. of going through glass ... It's just a matter of time before these people get caught."

Other numbers for September, as reported by Gagne at Wednesday night's Board of Police Commissioners meeting:

  • 28 criminal arrests
  • 232 motor vehicle summons
  • 1 residential burglary
  • 3 commercial burglariess
  • 2 stolen vehicles (0 recovered)
  • 30 larcenies
  • 2,443 calls
  • 484 total reports
