A sobriety checkpoint in Orange Saturday night resulted in a number of citations and one DUI.
According to a press release from Assistant Chief of Police Edward A. Koether, Orange officers teamed up with Woodbridge Police Saturday night and came up with the following results:
- 17 infractions
- 2 misdemeanor tickets
- 1 DUI
Charges included unregistered motor vehicles, operating without license, and speed violations. During the checkpoint there were a total of 13 vehicles required to be removed from the scene by tow truck due to either vehicle or operator violations.
"There were minimal delays and the officers received a positive response from the motoring public," Koether said. “Members from both departments worked diligently on the effort and look forward to continued collaboration on traffic efforts.”
