Business Owner Follows Burglar To Help Make Arrest

A West Haven man reportedly stole vehicle parts from an Orange car repair business.

Orange Police say they were able to arrest an alleged burglar after a local business owner who saw the crime followed the man in his car.

Police said the owner of Over the Edge Automotive called them at 11:18 a.m. on March 5 to report a burglary in progress.

The owner reportedly saw the man drive onto the property, at 321 Indian River Road, enter a storage building, and take vehicle parts valued at $800.

The owner then followed the man in his car until police arrived. The man, identified as Michael Stallings, 57, of West Haven, was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary 3rd degree and fifth-degree larceny.   

Stallings was held on a $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on March 6.
