Burglary Suspect Arrested

An off-duty police officer was instrumental in solving a burglary this afternoon.

On Thursday, April 21, at about 1:51 p.m., Orange Police received a call from off-duty Guilford Police Officer Kurt Fasulo, who was in the parking lot of the LA Fitness at 96 Boston Post Road, when he observed a male that appeared to be breaking into a car in the lot and removing an item.

Fasulo remained on the phone and provided information to responding officers leading them to the suspect, Kenneth Nichols, 29, of 423 Wildwood Drive, Orange.

Nichols was located and detained. Police said an investigation revealed that Nichols had entered at least one vehicle that did not belong to him, using tools to defeat the lock, and removed a men's jacket and $50 in cash from the vehicle.
