Bridgeport Man Charged With Assault Outside Orange Restaurant

Police say the man caused serious injuries to the victim.


A Bridgeport man was charged with assault in relation to an altercation that allegedly took place outside Ola Restaurant in Orange.

Police arrested Pedro Nieves, 26, on charges of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was arrested by warrant, on March 27.

The arrest stems from an incident that reportedly took place at the 350 Boston Post Road business at 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2012, and that was reported to police at 1:41 p.m. the following day.

"The victim told officers that he was at the Ola restaurant when he met the arrestee there. At one point, the arrestee followed the victim outside the restaurant, punched the victim in the face, causing serious injuries," the report provided by Orange Police states.

Police said Nieves was held on a $10,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on March 27.
