The "East Coast Rapist" was transported to the hospital after attempting to commit suicide in his jail cell.
Aaron Thomas, 39, of New Haven was arrested yesterday in connection with 17 rapes on the east coast.
He is reported to be in stable condition and will be returned to the New Haven Police Department jail by the end of the night.
