UPDATED: Woodbridge Man Steals AMR Fly Car Medic 33

Orange Medic 33 stolen while on a call in Woodbridge.

At 5:30 p.m. on Monday evening, Woodbridge police and a medical response unit were at the scene of a medical emergency on Barberry Lane in Woodbridge. While treating the patient inside the house, the "Medic 33" Ford Expedition paramedic unit out of Orange, that was parked outside was stolen from the driveway.

The State Police were informed, and at about 7:15 p.m., CT State Police Troop “A” in Southbury advised they had responded to a report of a person causing a disturbance in a store parking lot and had taken a suspect into custody who was in possession of the stolen paramedic vehicle. 

Michael Issaev, age 22, of 8 Cedar Acres Rd, Woodbridge, was arrested by the CT State Police  for vandalizing private property as he had driven over several lawns in Southbury prior to going to the store parking lot.  The suspect was then turned over to Woodbridge Police to answer to charges involving the stolen paramedic unit.

Issaev was charged with first-degree larceny and detained overnight at Woodbridge PD on a $25,000 bond.

During the night, Issaev was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment, and will be arraigned in New Haven to Superior Court in New Haven upon his release from the hospital.
