Car Accidents Lead to DUI Arrests

The latest arrest reports from Orange police include two DUIs.

An East Haven man was arrested by warrant at Orange Police Headquarters on charges of DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Police said the arrest stems from a June 28 accident on Lambert Road in which the man, who they identified as David McClure, 28, was involved in a car accident that resulted in injuries and a snapped telephone pole.

Lambert was released after posting a $50 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 19.

Accident Leads to DUI Charge

A man who police said left the scene of an accident was arrested on multiple charges at 7:51 p.m. on Nov. 2.

According to a report, Kenneth Phelps, 49, of West Haven, was involved in a car accident on Derby Avenue in Orange. He reportedly left the scene, and officers located Phelps in his vehicle on Marsh Hill Road.

Phelps was charged with DUI, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, failure to maintain insurance, failure to renew registration, misuse of a marker plate, failure to drive in proper lane, and evading scene of a motor vehicle accident.

He was released after posting $100 bond and is due in court on Nov. 16.
