SUV Crashes Into Building on Yale Campus

Firefighters had to extricate the driver following the crash at 4:30 a.m.


Orange firefighters had to extricate the driver of an SUV who crashed into Building D21 at the Yale Campus on Frontage Road at 4:32 a.m. today.

The SUV, which reportedly exited I-95 and raced straight onto the Yale Campus, jumping curbs and destroying trees on the way before it slammed into and broke a hole in the brick building, was removed around 5:31 a.m.

Engine 35 left the scene a few minutes later, while some fire officials remained on scene with representatives from Yale. Rescue 1 returned to Station 2 at 5:52 a.m.
