'Such Laws Restrict Freedom of Choice'

A motorcycle accident leads to a conversation on helmets.

"I wish Family court would actually concede that Parental Alienation is real. As part of any custody settlement, the parents and children should be required by law to have forensic counseling." —

"Would I be here today if I wasn't wearing a helmet? I don't know. But I still do not support helmet laws. Helmets restrict vision and hearing but more importantly, in my mind, such laws restrict freedom of choice." —

Director of Curriculum Position Called Lightning Rod

"I think everyone involved with this budget process is 'only re arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic'!" —

"The Orange BOE needs to get out of the 20th century mentality." — Jake

"There does seem to be a concerted effort by the right wing to limit women's reproductive right. And we thought that Roe vs. Wade had settled the matter years ago!" —

Re motorcycle helmets; Germany not only requires helmets, they require protective clothing, including gloves, and their fatality rate is a fraction of ours. There is a huge cost to society when accident victims are injured, and just like seat belt laws, helmets should be required in order to save lives and reduce the collateral costs to the rest of us.
