Ruth Jacobson Tiven, 82, of Orange, beloved wife of Howard Tiven, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
Born in Bridgeport, Jan. 19, 1930, she was a daughter of Julius and Ida Jacobson.
Loving mother of Seth (Patti Neff) Tiven of Austin, TX & Jon (Sally) Tiven of Nashville, TN.
Dear sister of Doris Rosenthal of Needham, MA and the late Arthur Jacobson. Ruth was a math teacher at Hamden High School for over 25 years.
She was the founder of the Hamden High School Math Team and coached her students to many victories.
Funeral services at the Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St., New Haven, Sunday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock.
