Obituary: Josephine Trapani, 100, of Orange

Josephine G. Trapani, 100, of Orange, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2012 at Milford Health Care Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in Bronx, New York on August 5, 1912, daughter of Severio and Gemma Bonanno Provenzano. She worked as a secretary for AVCO-Lycoming for many years until her retirement. She remained very active in her retirement years as a recording secretary of the AVCO Retirees and was a former Registrar of Voters in Bridgeport. In addition, she worked in the offices at Bella Vista in New Haven and Silver Brook Estates in Orange where she resided.

She is survived by her daughters,  Patricia Maddern (David) of Hamden, Frances Trapani of West Haven and Bonnie Liston (Kevin) of West Haven; her grandchildren, Coreen Walsh-Delise (Scott), Kathleen Walsh, Alison Maddern (Joseph), Shawn Pellegrino (Iglen) and Timothy Liston (Samantha); and her great grandchildren, Kayli and Sage. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Cerrina and brothers John and Cesare.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-6 pm at Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven. A prayer service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Those wishing to send condolences online may do so at www.keenanfuneralhome.com.
