Obituary: John V. Crocco, World War II Veteran

Services for the Orange resident are in the care of West Haven Funeral Home.

John V. Crocco, 92, of Orange, passed away on July 10, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of the late Marion P. Crocco of 57 years. Son of the late Angelo and Mariontonia S. Crocco, he was born in Bridgeport.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia Spector of Branford, Andrea Duarte, and John A. (Cynthia) Crocco, all of Orange; his daughter-in-law, Diane Crocco of Orange; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Stefanie, Robert Crocco Jr. and Ariana Duarte; his nephews, John and Andrew Perfette; his niece, Anita Andrew; his brother-in-law, Andrew Perfette; and his sister-in-law, Eleanor Perfette.

He was predeceased by his son, Robert Crocco Sr.; his granddaughter, Victoria Crocco; and his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Fred Casella.

Crocco was a tool and die marker for 42 years, prior to his retirement. A World War II Army veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the D.A.V.

The hours for visitation will be Friday, July 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green, 662 Savin Ave. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Infant Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Orange Center Cemetery with military honors.
