Obituary: Arlene T. Grabiec Riccio, 63, Nurse

Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Adzima Funeral Home in Stratford.

Arlene T. Grabiec Riccio, age 63, of Orange, beloved wife of Victor M. Riccio, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Arlene, an RN in the Pediatric Unit at Bridgeport Hospital for forty-two years, was born in Bridgeport, to the late Peter and Mary (Niznik) Grabiec, and has been a life long area resident. She was a 1967 graduate of Harding High School, and graduated from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. Arlene was a member and treasurer of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association #II. She was dedicated to her job, and most of all to her beloved family and many friends.

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband, include her cherished daughter Suzanne Riccio Wolfe and her husband Matthew of LI, NY, her sisters Joan Converse of Orange, and Mary Ann Tavella, and her husband Joseph of Monroe, brother-in-law Gene Riccio and his wife Anna of FL, and sisterin-law Etta Gaurino of Darien, 4 aunts, Agnes Sienkiewicz, Ethel Cresiski, Midge Grabiec, and Anna Greytak, and uncle Nicholas Angelicola, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arlene’s family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of Bridgeport Hospital’s Schine 7 for their kind and loving care.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 9th at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Infant Church, Orange for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Arlene’s memory to the American Cancer Society 825 Brook St Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to the National Kidney Foundation of CT 20 Farmington Ave West Hartford, CT 06107.
