A tragic fire in Poughkeepsie, NY claimed the life of a much loved 2008 Amity grad early Saturday morning.

The paper stated that four people, two males and two females escaped through windows, but three others, two female Marist students and a male friend did not make it out.

As of Sunday, the names of the victims had not yet officially been released by police, but friends had flooded Eva's Facebook page with loving messages and family friends and others who know them from their ties to Congregation Or Shalom in Orange confirmed that Eva is one of the Marist students who died in the fire.

One former Amity classmate wrote on her Facebook wall, "I am heartbroken about this news. May god bless your soul. My heart and prayers are with your family and friends. You will never be forgotten ♥"
