The Fresh Air Fund Southwest Coast Connecticut Welcomes New York City Children

The Southwest Coast Connecticut Committee will be greeting 3 New York City children as they arrive in Orange on July 8, 2011. The youngsters are six to 18 years old and will be visiting for a week or more. Some are leaving home and New York City for the first time, while others are returning to visit the same host families for consecutive summers.

THE FRESH AIR FUND, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.7 million children since 1877. Each summer, thousands of New York City children from low-income neighborhoods visit volunteer host families in 13 Northeastern states and Canada. In 2011, The Fund celebrates its 135th summer of serving children with a wide variety of special events and volunteer opportunities.
