Trick-or-treating may not have been on the menu for Orange Wednesday night, but a hurricane can't stop Halloween.
Using the tagline "We won't let Sandy take our candy," the town will host a Trunk-or-Treat event Saturday, November 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at High Plains Community Center. According to the release, all kids under 18 are invited to dress up and get free candy.
Rules:
Please arrive BEFORE 4:45 p.m. to park and set up your car in the assigned area. For the safety of the children, the area will be closed off at 4:45 p.m. Cars CANNOT enter after 4:45 p.m. or leave before 7:00 p.m. the Trunk or Treat Zone. At that point, open your trunk or hatchback, decorate it with Halloween decorations and fill it with treats. At 5:00 p.m., the kids will go from car to car showing off their costumes and collecting their treats.
The only cost to the event is the treats that you bring to give out to the kids. For more information or to sign up call 203-848-4704.
