Star SCSU Diver Amanda Burden Receives New All-American Honor

Southern Connecticut State previously called her the most highly decorated female diver in school history.

Amanda Burden, who Southern Connecticut State University’s Athletic Department has called has received new national recognition.

The SCSU Athletics Department website announced that Burden, an resident who graduated last month with a psychology degree, was named First-Team Academic All-American in the at-large category by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

This winter as a star diver on the SCSU swimming and diving team, Burden won her fourth consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Diver of the Year honor, and this spring she was named SCSU’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

At Amity High School, she was named All-State and All-Conference, and also participated in gymnastics and was named All-State in that sport as well.
