Hurricane Sandy is expected to hit Monday morning, and schools in the area are closing accordingly.
"All Amity schools and offices will be closed on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th due to the forecast for severe weather," Dr. John Brady wrote in an announcement on Amity's web site. He asked parents to stay tuned for further announcements on Tuesday as the school obtains damage and power outage information.
"I have just received word that school is cancelled on Monday and Tuesday due to the storm heading our way," wrote Amity Middle School-Orange principal Kathi Cutler in an announcement to Amity's mailing list. "Thank you and be safe."
Additionally, all of Orange's elementary schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday, according to announcement on www.oess.org.
