'No Butts' Campaign Targets Cigarette Butt Littering

Orange teen and his cousin receive a DEEP Green Circle Award for fighting 'litter butts.'

Littering waste paper trash is offensive to most people, and , but a young resident has begun a campaign to raise awareness about cigarette butt litter.

According to an article by the Hartford Courant, Daniel Kruger, 15, an , has organized the "No Butts About It" anti-litter campaign aimed at the proliferation of cigarette butt litter.

Kruger is aided in this volunteer effort by several of his cousins and other family members. The Amity High School 9th Grader and his cousin, David Steinmetz, 20, received a 2011 Green Circle Award from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
