Hey Patch readers!
Davis Dunavin here - fresh on the job as local editor, and I can't wait to meet all of you and help build a fun, friendly and positive online community to mirror the great community here in Orange. You may have seen a few of my bylines already - this week I'll be jumping into the full-time job of managing the site. It's a big job, and I hope you'll welcome me as I get started!
And when I say full-time, I mean it. You'll see me in town every day, whether at Starbucks or Case Library (my favorite places for "office hours"), or (this weekend) stomping around at the Volunteer Firemens' Carnival. And I'm always looking for a great story. I want to tell your stories. I really do believe there's nothing better than what friends and neighbors can do when they come together as a community. And if you've got a story, or suggestions for what we can do to make Patch a great place for Orange to come together, let me know. Some ideas: we're always looking for new bloggers from the community, and you can also contribute by uploading your photos!
A little about me: I'm a nature-lover -- my goal for the summer is to hike as many Connecticut trails as I can. My wife and I spend our time with a rambunctious dog and a spoiled rabbit named Ellie. I love taking photos and shooting video, so you'll probably always catch me with a camera.
I've already met some great people as I've been getting started on the job, and I'm looking forward to meeting even more. See you in town!
