Investigation Continues on Green UFO over Bantam Lake
The most likely explanation is that it was a meteor that was sighted as much as 25 miles to the east on April 9.
Following up on its earlier announcement that over Bantam Lake in upstate Connecticut on April 9, the -based Smoking Gun Research Agency said this week the mysterious object was seen in the Farmington and Southington area, about 25 miles east of the lake.
According to the Litchfield County Times, many people believe the object was a meteorite, which sometimes appear to be green. The Smoking Gun group notes that the National Weather Service said a meteor shower was reported around the time of the sighting, and the annual Lyrid Meteor Shower peaked later in the month.
An off-duty state trooper was among those who reported the object, which seemed to fall into or near Bantam Lake and was accompanied by vibrations or a sonic boom.
