Union Employees Locked Out at Dichello Distributors (with video)

A picket line formed early this morning in front of the driveway on Marsh Hill Road.

Teamster Union Local 443 employees at Dichello Distributors, 55 Marsh Hill Road, are on strike. (This is the information we received)

The signs they carry read "Dichello Distributors Employees Locked Out Teamsters Local 443."

They formed a picket line at the location at 4 a.m. Thursday, March 10 and the Orange Police Department has assigned officers to the location for public safety and traffic flow on the public roadway.

Local 443 has members in a variety of businesses, including Stop & Shop, UPS, freight companies, beverage distributors, such as Dichello and more.

Dichello Distributors is one of four Connecticut beverage wholesalers affiliated with Anheuser-Busch, and does business with other name brand brewers.

The company distributes to more than 2,000 bars and restaurants and 1,000 liquor and grocery stores.

Editor's Note: I printed the information I was given this morning. But, on our Facebook page someone commented that this is a Lock Out not a strike. The signs say Lock Out, but my phone calls resulted in no clarification. Updates will be posted when available.

UPDATE: After two days, neither the company nor the union has returned Patch's calls. Reporter Ron Haas went to the line today and spoke with the union members who are locked out due to a contract dispute. See that coverage at http://is.gd/RF4jFl
