Mr. Kold Kuts and Springbrook Deli a Bite Above The Rest

It wasn't an easy competition to say the least, but based on your votes and comments, Mr. Kold Kuts and Springbrook Deli are two of the best places to get a sandwich in the town of Orange.

 

We knew our weekly Reader’s Choice poll would be popular with a topic like best deli in town but we had no idea how exciting the race would be! Of the 12 choices Mr. Kold Kuts, an Italian Deli established 35 years ago, was the front-runner for the first few days, but the newer kid in town, Springbrook Deli came on strong on Wednesday, at times overtaking the lead.

Readers only commented on these two businesses, but there was no mention of the other 10.

The comments about Mr. Kold Kuts suggest that it is a nice neighborhood place, with a faithful clientele, where everybody knows your name.

"Joe, Madelyn & Kevin at Mr Kold Kuts are the BEST!! Everything they make is delicious."

For the most part, those who commented about Springbrook, formatted their comments in the form of "shout outs."

"Springbrook Deli all the way!!"

"Springbrook Deli rocks!"

Either way, with 577 total votes, Mr. Kold Kuts is this week's winner with 359 (62%) of the vote, followed by Springbrook Deli with 185 votes (32%).

The third place choice was Timothy's Gourmet with 15 (2%) of the vote.

Owned and operated by Joe Bonsangue for the last 35 years, Mr. Kold Kuts is a true Italian deli. Here you can find him making his own sausage and mozzarella, plus daily fare of eggplant parmagiana, baked ziti, sausage, peppers and meatballs. Everyday Joe prepares a different trio of specials.
