Never Before Seen Video Of UI Opening

See for yourself what the UI officials had to say about their new facility in Orange.

As we all now know the long awaited grand opening of the UI building on Marsh Hill Road has come and gone. What many of us did not know was when that grand opening was to take place.

That's right, Patch wasn't informed until after that fact and boy, did I feel foolish on April 26 when I was at the High Plains walking track and someone asked why I hadn't come to the opening.

UI called later to say it was an oversight that I was not included. Luckily for us, Ron Davis from Video Lab recorded the entire ceremony and it never ran on OGAT, so he graciously passed it on to me to share on Patch.

As you can see, the video was uploaded to YouTube so it is easy to skip along to the parts that you may want to see.

Opening the ceremony is Ed Drew, VP Operations for UI

• at the 5:19 mark First Selectman Jim Zeoli speaks

• 12:40 State Rep. Paul Davis

• 14:40 Tony Vollello, President, CEO UI

• 20:10 James Torgerson, President, CEO UIL Holdings

• 23:17 Ribbon Cutting

It's kind of fun to watch video of events that you did not attend to see who was there.

Near the end look at the crowd and see if you can find Fire Chief Charlie Gagel and others, then let everyone know who you spotted by leaving a comment.

Who says ribbon cutting ceremonies can't be fun?

Thank you for sharing the video Ron.
