CT Rollergirls Fundraiser at Bear & Grill

CT Rollergirls are coming to town.

, 385 Boston Post Road, will host a fundraiser for the CT RollerGirls on Friday, April 8, at 8:30 p.m. Live music, drink specials. $5 donation the door.

This is a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization providing family entertainment and fundraising for local charities.  Proceeds from this event go towards costs associated with running the organization.  The local teams will be present to answer questions about the sport.

 The skaters not only pay for their own gear, but they also pay monthly dues to help keep the organization financially sound.

The RollerGirls was founded in 2006. The skaters come from all walks of life, moms, teachers and the "Girl next door." They compete against the top leagues around the east coast and beyond. They call themselves the Daughters of the American Derby Revolution. Roller derby is real, athletic, the hits, falls, bumps and bruises are real.

If you've never seen the roller derby, you don't know what you're missing. General admission includes bleacher seating. Floor space is available - bring your own chair. chair rentals available for $3. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

The CT Yankee Brutals will take on the NJ Skyland Rollergirls, Saturday, April 16, at the CT Sports Center, 21 Bradley Road, Woodbridge.  Doors open at 6 p.m., bout begins at 7 p.m.  Admission is $10 in advance, $12 at the door (cash only).Children 12 and under free with a paying adult.
