Amity heavily nominated brings home only one high school musical award.

The Connecticut High School Musical Awards ceremony and show wowed a packed house at the Palace Theater in Waterbury last night. Here's a list of winners:

  • Supporting Actress Ashley Pacelli, New Canaan, "The Drowsy Chaperone."
  • Supporting Actor Ryan Stiffleman, New Canaan, "The Drowsy Chaperone."
  • Ensemble Member Tamara Dandowicz, Prudy Pingelton,  Regional Center for the Arts, Trumbull, "Hairspray."
  • Hair and makeup Regional Center for the Arts, Trumbull, "Hairspray."
  • Choreography Shannon Courtney-Egan, Ridgefield High School, "42nd Street."
  • Lighting Alex Mark, Trumbull High School, "Fiddler on the Roof."
  • Graphic Design,  St Paul Catholic High School, Bristol, "Beauty and the Beast."
  • Scenic Achievement,  Mark Mazzarelli, St Paul Catholic High School, Bristol, "Beauty and the Beast."
  • President's Award, Principal Tony Pavia, New Canaan High School, "The Drowsy Chaperone."
  • Student Orchestra,  Guilford High School, "Anything Goes."
  • Educational impact Award, Raymond Churchill, Griswold High School, "Guys and Dolls."
  • Outstanding Musical Direction Jane Matson and Brian White, Newtown High School, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
  • Amity brought the entire theater to it's feet after its cast performances of "All that Jazz" and "We Both Reached For the Gun."
  • Ort Pengue Memorial Costume Award  went to Julie Chevan of Amity for "Chicago" - the only one of  13 Amity nominations to bring home a prize.
  • Outstanding Lobby Display, St Paul Catholic High School, Bristol, "Beauty and the Beast."
  • Outstanding Director, Dierdre Alexander, New Canaan High School, "The Drowsy Chaperone."
  • Best Actor Max Gottschall, "Tevye" Trumbull High School, "Fiddler on the Roof."
  • Best Actress Lucy Moon Fitzsimons, "Tracy Turnblad, Regional Center for the Arts, Trumbull, "Hairspray."
  • Best Musical New Canaan High School, "The Drowsy Chaperone"
