Trains Behind Schedule Following Wires Down in Westport

By Daniel DeBlasio

Metro North is experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes on the New Haven line this morning, following a wire malfunction in the area of Greens Farms in Westport Wednesday night.

According to police, wires were down on the tracks shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday and a train was stranded without heat north of exit 18 of I-95, between the Westport and Greens Farms stations. A second train arrived on scene and up to 200 passengers were transported in that train.

Commuters should expect delays throughout the morning; currently trains are scheduled to arrive at Greens Farms 12 minutes late, according to Metro North.
