Special Events Programs Begin Friday Night

From festivals to concerts, the Orange Special Events Committee has you covered!

The Orange Special Events Committee has released its schedule of events for the year, beginning this Friday, with a Drive-In Movie Night.

Here’s the scoop.

Friday, May 13 — Phone home and bring the family to see E T – Spielberg’s movie about the extraterrestrial. Drive-In Movie Night at the Orange Fairgrounds. Admission is $5 per car. Gates open at 7:30 p.m., Movie starts at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 29 — Look for the Special Events float in the Memorial Day Parade.

Tuesday, June 14 — Flag Day ceremony at High Plains Community Center.

The Orange Summer Concert Series at the Orange Fairgrounds take place on Wednesday nights, from June 15-July 20 at 7 p.m. (See schedule below)

Friday, July 1 — The annual concert and Fireworks Spectacular (Parking is $5 per car)

Sunday, Sept. 18 — Family Photo Day at the Orange Country Fair.

Saturday, Oct. 15 — Pumpkin Palooza at the Orange Fairgrounds.

Friday, Nov. 11 — Veterans Day at High Plains Community Center.

Sunday, Dec. 4 — Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting at the Town Green and Library.

2011 Summer Concert Series

Concerts are held on Wednesday evenings starting June 15th and run through July 20th - with the exception of Wednesday June 29th, which has been moved to Friday July 1st to accommodate the annual Fireworks Spectacular!  All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and have a 'next day' Thursday rain date.


June 15 — Lunchbox — Rock/Pop Cover Band (featuring Mr. Palluzzi & Mr. Olden from the Orange Elementary School System

June 22 — Richard “Cookie” Thomas — Songs of Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Tony Bennett.

July 1 — Boogie Chillin’ and Fireworks — Funk/R&B/Soul, A returning town favorite featuring local resident Derek Graham.

July 6 — The Navels — Popular local band from 60s to current hits

July 13 — FML — Rock/Pop from the 90s to today.

July 20 — Yesteryear — Oldies/Doo-Wop
