On Thursday, Jan. 3, a group of Quinnipiac students from different faith organizations will come together along with Connecticut businesses and the community to hold a benefit dinner for families affected in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.
The money raised will go toward helping families with the cost of grief counseling.
“I have always loved helping my community, this is the biggest thing that I can think of to help these families that are going through something I don’t even understand.” said Ashley Alcott, the Event Coordinator.
Alcott contacted the students that she knew would want to help in the planning and execution of the event. The people coming together to hold this dinner include students from the different religious organizations at Quinnipiac University.
This dinner will be possible because of the generosity of Connecticut businesses donating food, such as Woodwinds, Brothers Restaurant in Wallingford and Fantasia in North Haven. WoodWinds is also donating the facility where the dinner will be held.
