Meet the Artists and Artisans at the Fairgrounds

A 49 year old Milford tradition comes to Orange.

A 49 year-old Milford tradition is about to make its debut in Orange.

Meet the Artists and Artisans Fine Art and Handcraft Show will take place June 25 and 26 at the Orange Fairgrounds.

Denise morris Curt is the remarkable woman (and artist) behind the very successful shows, which just celebrated year 49 on the Milford Green over Mother’s Day weekend.

Sunshine Arts Magazine, billed as “America’s Premier Arts and Crafts Show Magazine” has, according to Curt, has called the Meet the Artists and Artisans shows “the last of the real art shows”.   Curt’s shows are juried which keeps their quality high and she strives to have a wide variety of art represented.  Only original work made by the artist (as opposed to only being designed by the artist) is ever considered.

Like the Milford shows the Orange shows will have many exhibitors demonstrating their art at their respective booths, something that Curt thinks is very important part of the show.

Mike McCarthy, a woodcarver and a favorite at the Milford shows, will be carving his shorebirds (http://www.mattbirdworks.com). You’ll see painters painting, weavers weaving, sculptors sculpting.

Other exhibitors include Rex Holsapple featuring his black and white silver gelatine prints, beautiful watercolors from Mary Horan Livingston and Phil Chagnon (http://philchagnon.com), acrylics on canvas from Bruce Dumas (http://www.bruceadumas.com), natural stone, mosaic and inlaid tables and lamps from The Worm’s Eye (http://www.wormseye.com/), plus a variety of sculptors, jewelry makers, hand painting clothing and scarves, pottery and more.

The list of exciting and interesting exhibitors is lengthy, varied and should be seen first hand.

Enjoy lunch at the food pavilion with selections from Constantinou (Greek), Thai Taste, Maui Wowie smoothies, Faddys (hot doughnuts and ice cream), lemonade and more.  The Orange Boy Scouts will be serving American fare such as hamburgers and hot dog.

And, of course, Denise morris Curt will be exhibiting her own painting and photography which, in itself, is enough reason to make the inaugural Orange Artists and Artisans Show an event not to be missed.  Be sure to stop by Denise’s booth and say hello.

Meet the Artists and Artisans, Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Orange Fairgrounds.  Free admission.  Rain or shine.

Volunteers are sought for booth sitting, greeting exhibitors and directing them to their booths, set-up and break-down, and general assistance for the exhibitors.   Students are encouraged.  Contact Denise morris Curt at info@meettheartistsandartisans.com.
