UPDATE: Honoree Gives Homework Assignment During Ceremony (Video)

Debbie Davis, a popular Physical Education teacher at Amity High School is the town of Orange's Breast Cancer Awareness Month honoree for 2011.

The annual Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon Wreath Ceremony at the Orange Town Hall was brief, as usual, but extremely well attended with residents and town employees filling the front lawn to honor Debbie Davis, a breast cancer survivor.

Davis was accompanied by her husband, state Rep. Paul Davis and two children, Seth and Mara.

Being a teacher at heart, she took the opportunity to give out a homework assignment to everyone present, and whomever will view the videos on OGAT and Patch.

She told the crowd that their assignment was to gather up friends and family and participate in the 2012 BOW Relay for Life at the High Plains Community Center in April (See video for full speech).

Davis hung the pink ribbon wreath on the front door of Town Hall, and First Selectman Jim Zeoli announced that everyone was welcomed to take a pink ribbon and wear it proudly in honor of breast cancer survivors and in memory of those who've succombed to the disease.
