High winds could cause complications

A high wind warning is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.

The passage of a cold front this afternoon could result in westerly winds of 20-30 MPH with gust of up to 60 MPH, with the highest winds late this afternoon and early evening.

“Winds will bring down trees and power lines. Loose, light-weight outdoor objects such as trash cans and deck furniture should be brought indoors or secured.

Use extreme caution while driving, especially high profile vehicles crossing bridges and overpasses.

A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring with sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts of 58 MPH or more can lead to property damage.
