Are you looking at Hebrew School for the Coming Year? Temple Membership is FREE for the First Year!!!

Are you looking for a warm, welcoming environment that will enrich your life and your child’s life? Temple Emanuel is an open, caring community of approximately 160 households. As a small Reform synagogue, our members have the opportunity to know one another and to have meaningful input into how our synagogue operates. We are a participatory, diverse, non-judgmental, and intellectually vibrant congregation. First year membership is free if you have a child younger than 5th grade.

Temple Emanuel offers an educational program from preschool through Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Our Hebrew Program uses a self-paced and child-centered approach to teaching and learning Hebrew and prayer. This allows each student to work individually with a teacher or tutor to learn Hebrew according to his/her own ability. Our Judaics program offers a values-based program centered on the Torah, Avodah (the work we do to find sacred connections to God, community, and self), and G’milut Chasadim (acts to make the world a better and holier place). First day of school is on September 11th so call our Head Teacher, Janet Adams: 203-350-3973 or e-mail school@templeemanuel-gnh.org now!  What a great way to begin their education!

They should also be tested for other genetic disorders, such as Wilson's disease, which causes theRead More liver to store copper, eventually leading to acute liver failure. Unfortunately, the person who has it doesn't usually know until they are in liver failure. This disease killed my friend's daughter at the age of 6 - and they never knew until it was too late. My personal feeling is if there is a way to non-invasively test for these types of illnesses - no matter how rare - it should be done.
