Temple Emanuel Hebrew School Registration for 2012-2013

Are you looking for a Hebrew School? Are you looking for a warm and welcoming environment that will enrich your life and your child’s life? Then Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven is the place for your family.

Temple Emanuel, located in Orange, is dedicated to life-long Jewish learning. As a small Reform synagogue, our members have the opportunity to know one another and to have meaningful input into how our synagogue and school operate.  Recognizing that knowledge of our heritage is necessary to form a serious and sincere bond with Judaism, we have made education our highest priority. To this end, Temple Emanuel offers an educational program from preschool through Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation. Temple membership is free for the first year for new families with children in pre-school through grade 4.

Our Hebrew program, Mitkadem, uses a self-paced and child-centered approach to teaching and learning Hebrew and prayer. This allows each student to work individually with a teacher or tutor to learn Hebrew according to his/her own ability.

CHAI, our Judaic program, is centered on the Torah, Avodah (making sacred connections to G-d, self and the community) and G’milut (making the world a better place).

And Chavaya, a new post-Bar/Bat Mitzvah program for teens in grades 8 and 9, will teach leadership skills and allow students to work with our Rabbi on an innovative video project.
