Bring Your Child To the Library Day Today

Farmer Minor, Lillipug and Daisy the Famous Pig come to the Case Memorial Library.

Case Memorial Library is celebrating “Take Your Child to the Library Day" with a visit from Farmer Minor who will read stories to Daisy the Pig and her friend Lillipug today at 11 a.m.

This is a fun event for children of all ages as Daisy and Lillipug “pig out” on reading.

Did you know that the first Saturday of February has been officially designated as “Take Your Child to the Library Day” as a reminder to communities of the crucial role that libraries play in the development of our community’s youngest residents.

This special day was created by Connecticut Children’s Librarian Nadine Lipman will be held on the first Saturday of every February. This grassroots initiative sprang from the recent “Take Your Child to a Bookstore Day” held in December 2011.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to celebrate this important new annual event for families by bringing their children to the library to see what they have to offer in books, music, movies, and children’s programs.

Call or visit the library to register for this special children’s event.

They should also be tested for other genetic disorders, such as Wilson's disease, which causes theRead More liver to store copper, eventually leading to acute liver failure. Unfortunately, the person who has it doesn't usually know until they are in liver failure. This disease killed my friend's daughter at the age of 6 - and they never knew until it was too late. My personal feeling is if there is a way to non-invasively test for these types of illnesses - no matter how rare - it should be done.
