Rocco G. Torrenti, 81

Rocco G. Torrenti, 81, of Orange, passed away January 24, 2011 at the CT Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Beatrice D. Torrenti. Born in New Haven, November 18, 1929, he was the son of the late Albert and Annie Torrenti.

Rocco was a Civil Engineer and owner of The New England General Contracting Company for 42 years. He served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean War, was a past member of the Lions Club and a long-time sponsor of the Orange Little League.

He was a 1948 graduate of West Haven High School and a 1952 graduate of New England College, Henniker, NH, where he received his B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.

Besides his wife he is survived by his sons, Thomas A. (Donna) Torrenti, R. Eugene (Rosanne) Torrenti, and John A. (Thea) Torrenti, all of Orange, and five grandchildren, Donald E. Torrenti, John T. Torrenti, Dana G. Torrenti, Gabriella R. Torrenti and Daria M. Torrenti, also of Orange, as well as a sister, Iole Torrenti, of Milford. He is predeceased by a sister, Olga L. Torrenti and a brother, Albert P. Torrenti.

His funeral procession will leave the West Haven Funeral Home, 662 Savin Avenue, Friday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Infant Church, Racebrook Road, Orange at 10:00. Interment will follow in Orange Center Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
