What Can A Girl Scout Do? A World of Good

It's Girl Scout Cookie time and girls are doing a world of good! Using funds raised through the 2013 Cookie Program, girls in Amity Troop 60095 will be creating Birthday Kits for families in need.

Girl Scouts in Orange and around the state are currently participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program! When customers purchase Girl Scout cookies they not only receive a delicious product but they also help girls to make a difference in their communities.

For the past six years the girls in Amity Troop 60095 have used the money raised through their cookie sales to purchase supplies and create birthday kits for the Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent Child Resource Center. Each kit contains cake mix, a container of frosting, a disposable cake pan, a small gift for the child and paper products for up to eight party guests. These kits are distributed to families in need through the Resource Center, ensuring that the birthday girl or boy will have a special celebration.  The 16 Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts in this troop will be creating these kits again this year, carrying on this fantastic tradition of helping others.

Would you like to support service projects like this one? Purchasing cookies is a great way to help Connecticut Girl Scouts take action in their communities. To place your cookie order visit www.gsofct.org or call (800) 922-2770 and we will put you in contact with a Girl Scout in your town.
