New Haven Symphony Orchestra Present Greta's Dream, a Family Concert

155 Temple St, New Haven, CT | Get Directions »
$15.00

Embark on a musical journey with members of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra's (NHSO) double bass section as they present Greta's Dream, a Family Concert recommended for children 3-10 years, their parents and grandparents.

Greta's Dream is the story of a young hippopotamus who dreams of flying. Despite the nay sayings of her fellow hippos, Greta's best friend Polly (a frog) believes that perhaps she can actually fly, but just needs help to learn how. Greta and Polly embark on an adventure to seek out the famous Hippo Wizards who can hopefully teach young Greta how to realize her dream. The story will be accompanied by four double basses playing music especially composed for the story by Charles DeRamus.

Children are invited to attend the INSTRUMENT DISCOVERY ZONE beginning one half-hour before each concert. This is an opportunity for children to meet the musicians as well as see, hear, and play instruments featured in the concert.

Tickets ($15/adult, $12/senior, $5/child) can be purchased by calling the NHSO Box Office at (203) 865-0831, ext. 10 or online at www.newhavensymphony.org. Tickets are limited so act fast!
