Orange firefighters had to stretch sections of hose line down the street to battle a house fire this morning in an area of town without hydrants.

Reports of the fire near the intersection of Derby Avenue and Orange Center Road came through about 8 a.m. Orange Police blocked off the road, as firefighters worked on scene, reported to be 959 Derby Milford Road. The extent of the damage, any possible injuries and the cause are unknown at this time.
