The alternative rock band Terra Firma comprised of five Amity Regional High School students: Pat Williams of Woodbridge, Tyler Ryan, James Bonvicini and Aaron O’Niel from Orange, and Rob Zielinski of Bethany won the Battle of the Bands at Toad's Place in New Haven this weekend.

Terra Firma went head-to-head with two other finalists, the hair metal band Indecent Exposure, featuring Orange and Woodbridge residents Austin Jaser, Luke Barone and Ed Mandeville, who "try their hardest to put on a crazy show and give their audience a great time."

And the third band competing for the title, The Monumentos, from Guilford.

The bands were judged on three areas: talent, originality and audience participation, so all the bands urged their friends to come out and cheer them on.

As the ultimate winners, Terra Firma recieves recording time, a cash prize and will have one of their songs played on WPLR.
