Amity Teen Center Joins giveGreater.org, a New Easy-to-use Charitable Giving Resource
Donations made through giveGreater.org by December 31st help the Amity Teen Center compete for grants
The Amity Teen Center (ATC) is the latest nonprofit to join giveGreater.org, a new online knowledge and giving resource provided by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. giveGreater.org offers comprehensive information about nonprofits serving the Greater New Haven region in South Central Connecticut.
Donors and potential donors who visit the giving resource and search for Amity Teen Center's profile, will find information about the organization including its mission, programs and services, community impact and financial data.
ATC President Jane Opper said, "Even though the Amity Teen Center doesn't have the capacity to accept online donations at this time, giveGreater.org will provide that opportunity to our donors. GiveGreater.org will increase the visibility of our organization among potential donors, in part due to its online platform and searchable function by interest area and geography."
With a completed profile on giveGreater.org, the Amity Teen Center is eligible to participate in the giveGreater 2010 Challenge. Beginning 8:00 a.m. on November 1, the more donors who give $50 or more through giveGreater.org to the Amity Teen Center, the greater its chances of winning up to $25,000 from The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.
The Challenge ends at 11:59 pm on December 31; a complete set of Challenge rules is available at giveGreater.org.
The Amity Teen Center was formed in 1987.
"We are all so proud of our Teen Center building, which opened in 2006 at 10 Selden Street in Woodbridge," Opper said. "We are able to provide a community anchor for teens where they may socialize and participate in recreational and educational activities in a safe environment. We offer after school programs to stimulate creativity, enhance self esteem, and develop social and educational skills."
